For a while now, I have been building in the quiet. Coops for a gas station in Crozet, a band boosters program, an oyster bar, a running club, my own family. One at a time, by hand, learning what a good one feels like. I was not ready to make noise about it until I was sure the thing was real.
It is real. Roost is open.
What Roost actually is
Roost is a small studio that builds custom little web apps, I call them Coops, for people who are tired of running their whole world out of their head, their inbox, and a group text nobody reads. A Coop is one warm place for the thing you are holding: your business, your nonprofit, your classroom, your family life. Hand-built, shaped around how you actually work, yours to keep.
Not a template. Not another subscription that does one tenth of what you need. A place that fits you, made by a person who listened.
the whole idea
Most people do not need more software. They need one calm place. That is the entire thing Roost exists to make.
Who it is for
Small businesses who are drowning in a patchwork of apps and want one hub instead. Nonprofits juggling donors, sponsors, volunteers, and events across a dozen spreadsheets. Teachers who deserve a tool that respects their time (that one is free, always). And families, running trips, chores, storm season, the sitter handoff, the mental load of it all.
Different people, same feeling underneath: I am holding too much in my head, and I wish there were one calm place for it. There is now.
Why I built it by hand
Because the human part is the point. Anyone can generate a website. What is rare is someone who sits with you, hears the specific shape of your chaos, and builds the thing that actually fits it. The craft is the whole product. That is why every Coop is made one at a time, and why I am not trying to automate the caring out of it.
How to start
There is a live demo you can open with no account, so you can feel what it is like before you decide anything. Tell me what you are holding, and I will build you a warm little place to keep it. That is the whole invitation.
Thank you to everyone who let me build in the quiet, who trusted me with their business or their family before there was a website to point to. This one is for you. Roost is open. Come home.
