Roost done for now

welcome to

The Incubator

Got an idea for something? A business, a project, a thing you want to make? Let's hatch it together. Five quick questions, ten minutes, no email required.

made for kids, students, and curious grown-ups

scene one

The Spark

Every idea starts with a name and a sentence. What's yours called, and what is it?

Real example: "CAM is an app where kids can make their own movies."

scene two

The Warmth

Eggs need warmth to grow. Who is your idea for? Picture one specific person who would smile when they found it.

It's okay to be super specific. "Kids who love stop-motion but don't have fancy cameras" is more useful than "everyone."

scene three

The Shell

What makes your idea YOURS? What's something only you would think of? It can be tiny. The smaller the better, usually.

Big ideas already exist. The small specific thing is yours alone.

scene four

The Crack

Eggs hatch by cracking open just a little. What's the smallest first thing you could make or do this week? Something tiny and real.

"Draw a picture of it" counts. "Tell three friends" counts. Tiny is the point.

scene five

The First Flight

If everything goes well, what does success look like a year from now? You don't need to be realistic. Dream big.

This isn't a promise. It's a direction. Aim there.
